After opening at the
Latvian Center Garezers in the summer of 2010, “Artist in
Exile” traveled to Minneapolis in October, then Cleveland
in November. It will next be seen in Philadelphia, in January
2011. Pēc Gaŗezera atklāšanas 2010 g. vasarā, izstāde ceļoja
uz Mineapoli (oktobrī), tad Klīvlandi (novembrī), un 2011
g. janvārī būs skatāma Filadelfijā.

The Artist in Exile is the second traveling
exhibition organized by the Global Society, and is presented
in collaboration with the Klinklāva Gallery at the Latvian
Center Garezers in Three Rivers, Michigan. The exhibit
features work by 24 artists created when these artists were
living as displaced persons during the years 1944-1950.
After the opening reception on July 24, the exhibit has been
traveling to centers of Latvian diaspora culture throughout
the United States. Organizations interested in hosting the

for additional information.
A full-color 60-page exhibition
catalogue that includes reproductions of all exhibited work,
essay by Klinklava Gallery Director Līga Ejupe, artists’ memoirs,
and historic photos, is available for purchase online.
